In part, the idea of constructing a biogas facility arose from the nuisance to the local residents of Køge Bay caused by the odour of decomposing seaweed. In connection with Solrød Local Authority’s ambition of promoting the green transition in the local area, the idea arose of constructing a biogas facility that could utilise the washed-up seaweed, organic residual products and animal manure to produce green energy.
